Most of what a household runs never gets written down, so ownership stays fuzzy. List each part of the house, from food and money to paper and logins, and write who holds it now beside who would hold it best. Mark every row where the two names differ. Then give one name to each piece of the invisible work: knowing what is coming, noticing what is running low, and responding first when the plan falls apart. Built on the three household roles: the Chief Engineer decides direction, the Systems Engineer tracks and anticipates, the Operator carries out what has been decided. Use it each season, 45 to 60 minutes.

How to print

1. Download your files from the link on your order confirmation page. The link is also in your confirmation email.

2. Open them on a computer in Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free.

3. Follow the instructions page at the front of each file. Print at Actual size or 100%.

4. For the A5 and Personal refills, print on both sides, trim along the corner marks and punch with a six-hole punch.

A heavier paper, 24 to 32 lb, writes best.

Is anything shipped? No. You download printable PDF pages and print them yourself.

Will it fit my planner? The refills fit A5 (148 x 210 mm) and Personal (95 x 171 mm) six-ring planners. Print and trim one sheet first to check the fit.

Can a print shop print it? Yes. Bring the PDF and ask for actual size. Ask for two-sided printing on the long edge for A5, or on the short edge for Personal.

Can I write on it digitally? The pages are made to print. You can also import the Letter or A4 file into a note-taking app and write with a stylus.
