Before Cold Season: A 15-to-25-Minute Reset for the Medicine Cabinet
Most households find out what is missing from the medicine cabinet at midnight, with a fever in the house. A quarterly pass makes that a lot less likely, and it is one of the smaller jobs in the seasonal cadence.
The pass
Empty one shelf at a time. Check the dates. Anything expired, unlabeled, or no longer needed comes out.
Dispose safely. Use a pharmacy take-back program or the disposal instructions on the package, not the trash or the drain.
Sort by use. First aid, cold and flu, and daily items each get a bin with a label, so the right one is easy to grab in the dark.
Restock by list. Write down what is low, then buy it once, not on an emergency trip.
Fifteen to twenty-five minutes is a fair planning range for a single cabinet. Keep anything for children in a separate container, out of reach and clearly marked.
Reply and tell me: what is always missing when you need it?
